A Dog Year – Rescuing Devon, the most troublesome dog in the world by Jon Katz

I know for sure that if there is a book about animals it will make me cry and this book is no exception.

A Dog Year is one of the most heart-warming and entertaining books I have read recently.  Jon Katz is a writer who lives in New Jersey with his wife and Julius and Stanley, his two Labrador’s.  He agrees to take on a troubled Border Collie, Devon, and his life is never the same again.

The book explores his relationship with Devon as well as how Julius and Stanley adapt to the upheaval of a new dog. I have never before read a book that illustrates the bond between dog and human as this one does.   You are able to feel the love that Jon has for all his pets.  There are some hilarious moments as well as some real tear-jerking ones.

A must-read for animal-lovers!
